Wow – The Geek Girls and Friends first Tweetup was a HUGE SUCCESS!
On Saturday, February 13th, geeky tweeps came together at NYC’s Brass Monkey for a night of drinks, laughs, pictures and prizes. With nearly 60 attendees,I can say the geeks totally took-over the bar!
Although I hit crazy traffic on my way down, I came prepared with name tags, markers, stickers, buttons, and prizes from ThinkGeek, GC Records, Newsarama and @SarahKuhn! Check out what we gave away.
I reserved the only 4 tables in the bar, all the way in the back since I wasn’t sure how many people would decide to attend. But it wasn’t long before all 60 of us were hanging out and expanding past our “designated area”.
It was so exciting to finally meet so many of the people I twitter with on a daily basis. I have to say that they’re just as awesome in real life as they are on twitter. Seriously.
And if I do say so myself, for a bunch of nerds, we were super sociable and super hawt! Check out all the pictures on Facebook.

I have to be honest, when I first started seeing boobie avatars all over Twitter, I was more than a little aggravated. But after I started seeing the cleavage of quite a few women that I really admire, I knew I didn’t have the whole picture.
